Each year, Janna and the team support various charities through different types of involvement. This includes collecting donations for an organization in need at least once a year.

Previously, Janna has coordinated with causes like the CHYM Tree of Hope, Cambridge Firefighters Basket Fund, The Salvation Army, etc. to see what types of items she should focus on collecting.

While dozens of families have been helped through this method, Janna realized that there is so much potential for so much more. That’s why she founded JCMakes A DIFFERENCE – JCMortgages.ca’s very own philanthropic movement. JCMakes A DIFFERENCE began because a difference needs to be made.

After years of coordinating with organizations, or trying to find a charity to accept certain donations, Janna realized there was no one place where anyone could donate just anything. Through JCMakes A DIFFERENCE, hundreds of donation items – any and all – are collected and distributed throughout the local region and organizations where they are needed most.  In December 2018, Janna was able to collect 3 FULL truck loads of goods that were distributed to over seven local charities! This will be an ongoing campaign, coordinated with Community or Company events.

Janna has also previously been a part of gathering and filling then delivering baskets / hampers to those in need. Janna doesn’t just donate items, she makes time for causes she cares about. A few times a year Janna volunteers at a local soup kitchen to serve food or coordinate support with the House of Friendship. Additionally, she and her team make quarterly visits to Trinity Village – a nearby retirement centre. The girls bring the residents treats with each visit, staying for a few hours to participate in everyone’s favourite “Manicure & Mingle”, where residents are pampered with makeup and manicures.

Earlier in 2018, Janna decided to sponsor a local girls soccer team. Through JCMortgages.ca, the girls were provided with customized jerseys, soccer balls, and a JC-Cheer Team!
